Frequently asked questions
What is pattern matching?
It lets you search for a pattern instead of exact text. For example, the pattern [0-9]+ matches one or more digits. If a pattern is not valid, the tool shows an error message instead of changing the text.
Will it replace part of a longer word?
Yes. A plain search for cat also matches inside category. To match only the whole word, tick Use pattern matching and surround the word with word-boundary markers, written as a backslash followed by the letter b. Check the result before you copy it.
