Frequently asked questions
Are vowel marks counted as letters?
No. Harakat, the vowel and stress marks, are left out of the letter count but are still included in the character count.
How many words in Arabic language?
There is no single official number. Counts depend on the dictionary used and on what counts as a separate word, because Arabic builds many words from a root with different patterns. This tool counts the words in the text you paste, not the whole language.
What about an Arabic comma directly after a word?
Words are separated by spaces, so a word followed straight away by a comma counts as one word. Put a space after the comma if you want the comma separated.
